Claustrophobia...

The stifling fear rises
Like a tide
In the ocean of those eyes.....
When darkness encroaches
With arms wide open.....
Sucking in the air
In a single, hoarse breath......

She staggers back, directionless
Like a cornered prey....
A wild flail of arms
A lame refusal to accept defeat......
The walls seem to close in
And so helpless feels her soul
Like a victim surrounded
By countless hungry predators.......
Voiceless screams tear through the air
As silence seems like a curse.....

She contends with the nauseating waves
Thrashing against her terrorized heart.....
Breaking her up
Shredding her courage to pieces...
She gropes fanatically, in the dark
For a reliable hold on reality.......
But none she finds
To respond to her cries for mercy.......

The noose tightens
An asphyxiated mind
Losing her conscious.....
The powerless eyes stare
Without a blink
Too scared to lose their vision.......
But the door remains closed......

The body crumbles into a drunken stupor
And she falls into nothingness....
Partly dead, partly numb
Encased in a shell of senselessness......
Lost in the brutal illusions of her mind
She lies there, wide-eyed
Fatally afraid of fear.......
